Inspired by her experiences in Portugal and the beauty of its music and landscapes, Scott sought to weave those elements into the melody and rhythms of the piece. The song was born from a moment of inspiration while she was driving—its chorus, bass line, and rhythmic foundation came to her all at once, prompting her to immediately record her ideas and send them to Wooten, who enthusiastically helped shape the final version. Featuring Wooten’s expressive piano work and the stunning vocals of his daughter, Kaleah Wooten, "Alma de Lisbon" is a testament to Scott’s versatility and passion for cross-genre musical storytelling. They hired a world class orchestra for this project! There are very few projects that feature Gypsy Jazz guitars and full orchestra let alone playing traditional American Songbook tunes. "A New Set Of Strings" is a truly unique project!
