From the deck of his Belmont Shore home, Dean Grech has spent many moments during the past couple years looking out at the windswept ocean in the short distance to reflect on his next album. The album, Back in Time, is the result. The beauty that surrounds us, the romance that gives way to the moment, and the challenges we face while staying optimistic during these demanding times are the themes of this album.

As a successful Billboard-charting artist, Dean Grech has again combined his songwriting, recording and performance experience into these album themes. To accomplish this, Back in Time draws on past musical styles, current musical genres and hints to the future evolution of the cool school of jazz known as smooth jazz today. To do this, Grech combines elements of pop, R&B and traditional jazz to fit in one cohesive project. Listeners have come to expect this outcome. As with his previous two albums, the next installment of Dean's eclectic version of jazz speaks to yesterday's jazz vocal and guitar artists. The album hints of vocalists such as Chet Baker, Kenny Rankin and Michael Franks along with guitar artists like Wes Montgomery and George Benson.

If history is any forecast of the future, the album should do well. The title track of Grech's last album, "We Got Lost", reached number one on Billboard's most increased play list in its second week out. The album also produced Billboard charting tracks that included "Shake it Around" and "Playa Rosa."

To guarantee that former success, Grech has brought back many of the stellar performance and recording artists from his last two albums, plus adding a few new faces. Greg Vail, Hal Ratliff, Hans Zermuehlem, Koko Powell, Mark Jones, Tony Torres, Tom Dante, Ron Robbins, Ernie Nunez, Bobby Breton, Rick Parma, Reggie Ashley, and Ginetta Vendetta provide the support an album of this quality expects. Vocals and songwriting credits are also given to Nikki Cicero, a rising jazz artist, featured with Grech on this recording and live performances around Southern California.

The multi-year project is set to release this year. You can order this album soon, stay tuned!
